Obituary for Brother Steven Hill

Steven Douglas Hill was born to the union of the late Joseph Boise Hill, Sr. and the late Myrtle Esther Creggett-Hill on March 7, 1967 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was the eleventh of twelve children.

He loved playing with family members and the neighborhood children... football, monopoly, basketball, volleyball, etc. He had a lot of the mannerisms and ways of his late father.

He attended Coleman public schools and graduated from Watson Chapel High School on May 21, 1985. He loved playing basketball and football while at Coleman and Watson Chapel schools. He loved the families of the communities. He often spent time with these families. He was a former member of the Timothy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church located at 1304 South Apple Street in Pine Bluff, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Lozetta Rayford.

He was a member of Holy Love Deliverance Temple Church of Denver, Colorado for ten years, Bishop Harvey Nubine, Pastor.

He is preceded in death by his father—Joseph Hill, Sr.; mother—Myrtle Esther Hill; and siblings Joseph Hill, Jr., Lee Edward Hill, and Bernita Hill-White.

He held several jobs in Pine Bluff, Arkansas before moving to Aurora, Colorado in 1990, where he worked at the Penske Trucking and Leasing Company for twenty-five years as a mechanic.

He was married to Linda Fay Gay of Aurora, Colorado until they parted ways.

He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy his son—Marcus Smith, Sr. (Clairece-Atkins-Smith) of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers and sisters—Alfonzo (Elaine) Hill of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Ruby Shepherd of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Bette Lake of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Carolyn (Derrick) Hayes of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Alvin (Veronica) Hill of San Antonio, Texas, James Hill of Denver, Colorado, Rena (Larry) Chidester of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Rose Mary Hodges of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his godmother—Mrs. Delores Battles of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two grandchildren—Marcus Smith, Jr. and Madelyn Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside Service will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Graceland Cemetery with Rev.Steven Lake Officiating by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Walk through Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at Paradise Funeral Home.
