CHILDREN’S DEDICATION SERVICE
Dedicating our children to God is a ceremony in which believing parents, and families, make a commitment before the Lord to raise that child according to God's Word and God's ways.
The practice of baby dedication is rooted in this passage found in Deuteronomy 6:4-7:
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”
Parents who dedicate their children are making a promise to the Lord before the church congregation to do everything within their power to raise those children in a godly way, prayerfully until they can make a decision on their own to follow God.
Also, parents who make this vow, or commitment, are instructed to raise the child in the ways of God and not according to their own ways. Some of the responsibilities include: teaching and training the child in God's Word, demonstrating practical examples of godliness, disciplining the child according to God's ways, and praying earnestly for the child.
An Example of a child Dedication in Scripture is found in 1 Samuel 1:11, 26-27. Hannah, a barren woman who asked God to give her a son, vowed to give the child back. When He answered her prayer she remembered her vow, presenting Samuel to the Lord.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS BRUNCH
Welcome members, family, guests, and neighbors. Immediately following service today (5/15) Holy Love will host a Friends and Family Day Brunch. Please join us. We would be honored to share a meal and get to know you a little more.

Thank you Eric Washington for blessing our church family. Eric is from the DMV (Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia) area, born and raised, and has been saved 40+ years. He learned to play piano from just being in the choir and has been ministering all around ever since.
FOOD BANK OF THE ROCKIES
Thanks to our faithful youth for continuing to support this ministry. Holy Love ministers at Food Bank of the Rockies the second Saturday each month. You can find a link to sign up to support this ministry next month, June 11th, on the HLDT Church Website.
